The sacai x Nike VaporWaffle “Tan Navy” is a collaboration between the luxury fashion brand and Nike on the hybrid model inspired by the Vaporfly and Air Pegasus ‘83 performance runners. Sacai and Nike launched its debut collaboration in 2019 with the highly desirable and abstract-looking LDWaffle, a combination of the LDV and WaffleRacer silhouettes. Later, the duo would release a Blazer Mid and, in 2020, the first VaporWaffle. Whereas the original version of the shoe featured an airy mesh construction, the “Tan Navy” replaces the lightweight material with an equally comfortable cut of plush tan nylon. Tonal suede and leather overlays can be found on the toe and eyelets and on the heel. A white painted Swoosh logo appears beneath navy blue leather design on either side. Sacai continues the “twos” theme by layering white and navy laces over double nylon tongues. The stacked midsole splits at the heel in a shape reminiscent of the Vaporfly. Release date: Spring 2021.
